Most hot wax services are completed within 2 hours — often sooner when possible — so you can get back on the trails the same day.
Our Basic Hot Box treatment utilizes a soft wax that deeply penetrates and bonds to your ski base material, minimizing hand work required. Best suited for new or freshly ground skis.
Application of a hard wax layer using a low iron temperature to condition the base for use with hard waxes. Recommended after stone grinding to enhance durability and speed for future wax applications.
We Glide clean the base and then we apply a single layer of high-quality, fluorine-free wax, designed for optimal glide in short races under 20 minutes. For local races, we also test waxes the week before to ensure the best and fastest option possible, tailored to the race conditions of the day.

Recommended wax for the SKI TO THE SUN
Heat box + base hardening : This is our best prep and recommendation for new skis or skis that have just been re-grinded. The combination of the 2 will deeply nourish the base and enhance durability and speed for all future wax applications.
For the Ski to the Sun race waxing service, please drop off your skis at Winthrop Mountain Sports any time through Thursday afternoon. No sign-up is required, but it is appreciated.
We will be testing wax all week to ensure the best possible performance on race day.
• Same-day waxing is available on Friday if skis are dropped off by 12:00 PM (noon).
• A $30 rush fee applies for Friday same-day service.
